Yesterday was TitaniumAmy’s birthday. We went with a superhero theme, naturally. She spent the entire day traveling (and believe me, that 6 a.m. flight out of LAX was brutal!), so we had to spice it up with a birthday sash. We arrived rather inauspiciously at the NIH, as the SuperShuttle driver dropped us off at the wrong gate of the giant complex. Fortunately, NIH security came and got us. The security screening here is THOROUGH! As a federal property, they entire complex is secure. But, once here, the Children’s Inn, right next door to the main research/hospital building, is a little haven. We spent about an hour in admissions last night and are ready to start appointments this morning.
TitaniumAmy is ready to go make a little history!
